We pray and hope and work for things that we want. We receive blessings and bad days and more blessings. Sometimes--once in a blue moon, as far as I've ever experienced--those blessings arrive *precisely* how I imagined they would. Most of the time those blessings are quite different from what I pictured. Sometimes that's okay. Sometimes I utter, "That's not what I meant," and I have to dig a little deeper to find the gratitude I know I should be feeling.
It's Not All About You
As we walk through life today, let's remember that most people are making it through the best they can. Give a little grace and a little bigger smile, and move about your day.
Taking a lesson from my older friends
I have a small set of friends who are 10+ years older than me, some of them my parents' ages or close to it. ... The times I spend with them are some of my very favorite, and I'll tell you why -- they take their ten-to-thirty years on me and, without even knowing it, teach me how to gracefully grow into my 40s, 50s and 60s.
Why I think Social Media Posts Are Real Enough
I think the moments we post with our smiling faces are great. I don't think they're meant to brush over the crappy moments, I think they're meant to make the happy moments SHINE! Highlight these positive and joyful moments. At the end of your life, isn't that what you want to stick out anyway?
