What do all of those have in common? They’re tough, misunderstood, hiding a superpower, and can either make a difference for others or a mess for the self.

everyone has a different response/reaction to life’s Defining Moments - the capital-D, capital-M Defining Moments that divide our lives into BEFORE this & AFTER that. When we know the answer to the question WHY DOES THIS MATTER TO ME?, we can distinguish the healthy response from the unhealthy response to the Defining Moment experiences.

Santa challenges himself, squeezing down that chimney & all, but he doesn’t drive himself crazy to be someone he’s not, just so he can be liked by those around him. He operates within his personality & he does so generously. And we are better for it.

There’s no Santa & Santa’s work without Mrs. Claus. Let’s be people who give & receive love and support to and from our people. We can do that using the gifts of our personality. For example…

Frosty the Snowman moved through personality traits of the entire Enneagram because he walked confidently in his gifting. He knew who he was & what he was meant for - and he did that very, very well. As a result, he had all this extra energy to do all these other things that he clearly found quite enjoyable. He could live fully within himself because he knew his mission & he went at it with all his might.

As much as we don’t want to admit it, we have some common ground with The Grinch: the fact that we all have personality traits that are less than kind. And that’s okay, because we’re all human. But it’s not okay to stay that way. the Grinch let himself be pruned. He went from a meanie who stole everything to a generous heart who gave everything. We can be pruned like that, too.
